Summer Feeding Fundraiser

Children in Lake County receive free breakfast and lunch during the school year; however, during the summer months, families in need struggle to feed their children.

During the month of June, St. Matthias is holding a fundraiser to help support the Neighborhood Center of South Lake’s School Break Feeding Program. Before Covid, the program could feed a child for $10.00 for the summer, but with the rise in costs, and that price has risen to $50. The Neighborhood Center is currently targeting about 600 kids for the summer feeding which costs about $30,000. In the past, they fed over 1,000 children, so with more funding and food, they hope to feed more children.

Please join us in the Breezeway where you can choose an envelope from our fundraising wall and help provide food for those who rely on these programs. Some of the envelopes have a surprise in them for you too! Monetary donations can be given online as well.

If you are unable to give a monetary donation, some food items that can be donated are canned pasta, cereal, mac & cheese, shelf stable milk, snack bars, oatmeal packets, and peanut butter.

All proceeds collected will be given to the Neighborhood Center of South Lake and will be used to purchase food for children in the South Lake area who rely on school-issued meals.
