WORSHIP TEAMS

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Sunday mornings are at the heart of our life together as a church family. Each week, we gather for worship, fellowship, and service, sharing in the beauty and joy of our common life. From greeting newcomers and helping prepare the church to reading Scripture, assisting with worship, and serving at the altar, there are many ways to participate in our Sunday services. These ministries offer opportunities to share your time and talents while helping make our worship welcoming and meaningful for everyone who gathers with us.

Acolytes

Acolytes assist the clergy during worship services. They carry the processional cross, help prepare and tend to the altar, and assist with various ceremonies of the service. Their service helps support the clergy and contribute to the reverence and beauty of worship.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers assist the clergy during the celebration of Holy Eucharist. They help prepare the altar, present the bread and wine, and distribute Communion to members of the congregation. Eucharistic Ministers also take Communion to those who are unable to come to the altar. They serve an important role in helping to make the celebration of Communion welcoming and orderly.

Greeters

Greeters help create a warm and welcoming enviornment for everyone who comes to worship. They welcome members and visitors as they arrive, offer assistance when needed, and help ensure that each person feels comfortable and included. Through their hospitality, Greeters help make our church a welcoming place for all.

Lay Readers

Lay Readers assist the priest during worship by reading the appointed lessons and other readings during the service. Through their participation, Lay Readers help proclaim Scripture and enrich the worship experience for the entire congregation.

Ushers

Ushers help ensure that worship services run smoothly and that everyone feels welcome and comfortable. They prepare and straighten the pews before and after services, distribute bulletins, help people find seats, take a headcount, carry the bread to the altar, pass the offering plate, and assist by directing people to the altar during Communion.

Altar Guild

Altar Guild members prepare and care for the altar and sanctuary for all services, arranging flowers, changing linens and accessories, selecting the proper vestments, and ensuring the altar is appropriately prepared for each occasion. They also clean and care for the silver, brass, and altar lines. Through their faithful service and careful attention to detail, Altar Guild members help create a beautiful setting for worship.
